Llama trekking in France

Family friendly fun at Les Fragnes!

CaitlinandCatriona Our llama trekking is terrific – try it and see! Lulin in the sunshine

Here’s what it’s all about. A llama trek is a walk with a llama. You don’t need any special skills, just sensible footwear. You lead your llama along, and enjoy his peaceful, relaxing company as you discover the delights of our rural retreat, here in Creuse, at your own pace. We’re there to supervise things, so you can feel totally relaxed with our lovely llamas.

trekkingOur treks are designed to be a fun family experience. There are two routes to choose from, the shorter Petit Cria Trail, and the longer Grand Lama Trail. Both take in woods, lakes and fields and there is a llama discovery quiz to do on the way round, also posters will tell you about the trees, birds, plants and animals you might encounter.

Meet the llamas

OscarDenisBernard

Here at Les Fragnes, we have a team of three fabulous llamas and two alpacas, just waiting to meet you. You really could not hope to find calmer llamas and sweeter alpacas. First there’s Oscar. He likes to lead. He’s a very handsome, tall, inquisitive llama. Next comes Denis, the most laid-back llama you’re ever likely to meet. He takes everything in his stride without batting an eyelid. Then come our two inseperable alpaca chums, Brendan and Semaus. Brendan is a rich chocolate colour, while Seamus is caramel. And their wool is so soft! And bringing up the rear, where he’s happiest, is Bernard, the third llama. He’s an unusual dark brown colour. He’s a real sweetie and often a great favourite with visitors.

Even if you can’t manage a trek, you can still come and visit our wonderful llamas and alpacas. During term time we offer guided visits on Sunday afternoons from 2pm till 5 pm. During school holidays, guided visits take place Monday to Friday 9-12pm. The price of 2 euro includes the children’s craft too. And all our other animals will be very pleased to meet you too!

Our treks are a unique and fantastic experience here in France.
